Admittedly, a vehicle’s visual appeal is always a matter of personal taste. But on a technical level, the Ducati 999 addressed several of its predecessor’s flaws. It’s also the last truly hand-built Ducatis, and, more to the point, at the time, the 999 was a real superbike. The Ducati 999, like the modern-day Panigale V2, has a 90° V-twin (‘L-twin’) engine. It’s a 998cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected V-twin that, in 2003 and 2004, made 124 hp and 75 lb-ft. Together with a six-speed transmission, it’s enough to let the 438-lb 999 go 0-62 mph in less than three seconds.
While the Ducati 999 doesn’t have ABS, it does have Brembo disc brakes and fully-adjustable Öhlins suspension. It also packs an analog tachometer, shift lights, and a digital display with a built-in lap timer. And all of this is just on the base 999. One year after Ducati launched the 2003 999, it released the 999S and 999R trims. While the 999S also uses a 998cc V-twin, it makes 136 hp and 78 lb-ft.
This Ducati is a one owner bike and has been kept in the garage now for the better part of 10 years. The bike still comes with the original tail and seat for passenger. The sport tail on the bike is not something you see every day and it original Ducati factory part too. The bike will turn heads whether it is on a trailer driving the M8 or you're driving it to Bondi for coffee. Don't miss out on this iconic Italian legend. The Triple 9 S is an Australian Delivered bike that does not have one scratch on her. Taken great car of looks as good as new.
