There’s no sign of the popularity of the BMW R-series waning. It’s been massaged and twisted in every direction, and just as we think we’ve seen it all, along comes something that blows our socks off. Case in point: this killer R80.

This 1985 BMW R80 retains its unique mono-shock and single-sided swing arm. Arjan had a clear direction in mind from the word go: “Vintage on the colours, raw on the metals, and aggressive—like the street fighters from ten years ago.”

Clearly opted for a simple colour scheme: the frame and wheels are black, and the tank wears a vintage matte black as well. The lack of graphics emphasises just how angry this BMW R80 looks, so you have to applaud that restraint.

In this version sold from the year 1985 the machine is equipped with a Two cylinder boxer, four-stroke motor. The engine produces a maximum peak output power of 50.00 HP (36.5 kW) @ 6500 RPM. With this drive-train, the BMW R80 is capable of reaching a maximum top speed of 181.0 km/h (112.5 mph). On the topic of chassis characteristics, responsible for road holding, handling behaviour and ride comfort, the BMW R80 has a frame with front suspension and rear suspension.

Stock tire sizes are 90/90-18 on the front, and 120/90-18 on the rear. As for stopping power, the BMW R80 braking system includes Single disc size at the front and Expanding brake size at the back.
