2019 HARLEY DAVIDSON HERITAGE CLASSIC MILWAUKEE-EIGHT
‘Beach’
Harley Davidson has a long and rich heritage. The new Heritage Classic delivers nostalgia with modern technology. While the Harley Davidson factory tried hard to balance an abundance of chrome with dark, sultry colours, the Gasoline workshop did what they do best: black it out and tidy it up. All class!
This clean Harley Heritage Milwaukee-Eight big twin has had subtle but stunning style upgrades which means the overall appeal is quintessentially Harley, but more… elite. The custom paint work is an OEM Billiard Blue and Cream, which gives it a laid-back yet noble attitude.
The whole rear fender was redesigned to seamlessly house the lit up number-plate. Kellermann Dual Function stop/tail/turn indicators are visible only when they need to be. The chunky seat was replaced by a Mother Road Customs sprung seat with modified and powder-coated mounts. A custom rear shock adjuster mount was fitted to an already powerful mono shock, which assures the smoothest of smooth rides.
A new 21-inch front tyre majestically opens up the front end and gives the overall stance a lift. The white wall on the front and rear tyres are an obvious addition that gives it an extra pop on the streets.
Our refined design sensibility may go unnoticed to the untrained eye, but the fuel tank was heavily modified. The cluster of OEM instruments had to be welded and filled with a ‘fake’ LH fuel filter. The original cross bar was removed between the Hollywood bars, for that beautifully swoop-y aesthetic which also results in a lightness when steering. Lightweight Daytona mirrors follow suit while the custom speedometer mount was relocated behind the headlight. All OEM holes had to be filled and covered. As budget was wearing thin, we kept the original front turn signals opting to enhance with a smoked lens cap.
As always, the devil is in the blacked out details. The top triple, headlight bezel & mounts, front wheel hub cover & spacer and Vance & Hines exhaust tips & badge were gloss powder-coated. The real elegance is in the front & rear fender trim, which were blacked out and look ultra modern. APR black side cover bolt kit and strut bolt kit assisted in further tidying. The final touch was a pair of the latest iteration of the HD logo, bar and shield, in gloss black on the Billiard Cream tank. Superbly clean, it’ll be hard to look at a factory Harley Davidson after this job.
Many thanks to our customer for being as painstakingly pedantic as we are to achieve a clean result. It aint cheap and it aint a fast process.
