“Most people that come into Gasoline want something different that nobody else has, they don’t want the same bike as Joe next door." Read the full article here...
The Ural ‘CT’ model - a revolution in handling.
The Ural factory has tweaked their outfits to get an even better ride from a well proven design.
In the USA, test riders have given it the nod and warmly report on the effect of these small mods to the new model. “It sits on the road better and it gets around corners nicely”. “Rough pavement moves the outfit around less and the bike feels more nippy”. Gearing is better for acceleration.
So what have they done you say? Well the changes are quite subtle really. They have made a small compromise in ground clearance and lowered the whole outfit a little by running 18” wheels all round. Then they have used the retro sidecar suspension to bring the chair itself down a couple more centimetres. All this lowers the centre of gravity to increase stability and cornering ability.
Still suitable for road or adventure riding, there is more to the mods. The mounting brackets have been expanded to push the wheel track wider. A wider wheel track has created more stability and less inclination to lift the chair when on faster or off camber turns.
The Urals have long been slightly over geared in top when battling a headwind or long gradual climbs. Sometimes that necessitated a down change of gears to maintain the pace. The 4.00 x 18 wheels have lowered the gearing nicely, with better acceleration . Top gear hangs on better in adverse conditions and the ability to accelerate through 100kph is noticeably better.
Ural Australia has landed the new “cT” with 2015 specs in Gloss Grey, Terracotta or Yellow. They arrive as a bare model that can then be accessorised with the customers choice of the many Ural factory fittings to personalise the bike to their riding requirements.

Gasoline Motor Co. Launch Party
Words and photos by Pete Cagnacci featured on Throttle Roll
After being in business for a while now, last night Gasoline Motor Co. hosted their official launch party as well as celebrating their 21st birthday. Having relocated from their smaller Darlinghurst workshop into a truly giant showroom in Alexandria, Jason Gasoline who started Gasoline Cafe in 1994 teamed up with Matt Hale and Tim Yates who owned a car emporium in Brookvale. This new partnership meant now there wouldn’t just be a huge variety of scooters and bikes on offer, but an amazing selection of vintage and luxury cars as well.
The invite to the event boldly stated that it would be a presentation of luxury vehicles and two wheel road masters, and they sure fucking delivered. Their warehouse space in Alexandria is impressive enough upon arrival; a Ford F-650 truck sits imposingly out the front, looking like an automotive bouncer. Wouldn’t be surprised if the beast of a truck featured in the next Michael Bay special effects aneurysm.
"As you can see from this amazing selection of cars , Tim and Matt are super passionate and have great taste and a great eye for quality. Everything from the American muscle cars which are personally owned by myself, the euro cars, to the Bentley and Rolls is a testament to the kind of product that Gasoline wants to represent and sell. These cars sell so fast, every week there is something new" Jason Gasolin
Inside the building is gigantic, but Gasoline Motor Co. have outdone themselves in filling every inch of space with autos. The floor is filled with cars dating from almost every decade, luxury to muscle, Dodge to Rolls Royce. There’s a lot to take in, and I mean a lot. To the left as I walked in I spotted a jet ski, a nice little addition. To the right; a boat. Ok I get it. These guys do everything with an engine. Righto. To the back of the building is a rank of scooters, enough to stage an invasion of Italy (or at least annoy them enough to not be invited back for dinner) Yep, Gasoline Motor Co. cover just about every base, I even spotted some vintage children’s toy scooters and cars.

"So far everyone who has come and visited has been amazed by what we have on the floor that’s in for either service or for sale. From the pristine used and custom bikes we have for sale or on display, to the Vintage and exotic scooters that come in day in and day out"
Then there are the bikes, scattered about the dim but colourful lighting you could spy the features of a dozen or more custom rides. The unique tanks, the shimmer of titanium pipe wrap, this is the good stuff. Gasoline have brands such as Ural, Skyteam, Laro, and a big selection of second hand rides on offer. Sandro Dayritt, who works Sales as well as working closely with motorcycle configuration for the customers of Gasoline Motor Co. said “so far everyone who has come and visited has been amazed by what we have on the floor that’s in for either service or for sale. From the pristine used and custom bikes we have for sale or on display, to the Vintage and exotic scooters that come in day in and day out”
The crowd attending the celebration was spoiled fucking rotten. Tons of booze, bottled and on tap, as well as amazing food. There was a food truck that seemed to constantly have an eager line of folk out front of it, as well as fresh burgers doing the rounds. If you weren’t feeling as attractive as some of the vehicles in the showroom, there was even a barber station giving folk trims and cuts.
A special announcement was made (as if Gasoline Motor Co. couldn’t get more appealing) and that was that they would now be brewing their own beer! Where will it end?
Be sure to check out their site or visit in person – www.Gasoline.com.au
Big thanks to Pete and the guys at Throttle Roll for coming down on the night and doing a fine job on documenting the happenings.
Lucille - BMW R80 Gasoline Custom Build

Bringing together some of the most professional and experienced metal fabricators, painters and artists in the country to transform and create this immaculate BMW Cafe Racer. Built around its original four stroke, two cylinder horizontally opposed boxer 800cc Engine, the frame has undergone a copper dipped process and its tank masterfully painted along with its metal fabricated rear end. All its mechanical components got some very special attention to ensure it was running beyond optimal performance and looking even better. As a finishing touch to the beautiful machine Artist Neo Dutch and also cousin of Von Dutch skill fully engraved a Japanese inspired design on both the fuel cap and triple tree.
A jigsaw puzzle of hands to finish this machine, Strategic assembly and a fuck load of thought...
Rebellion
The long awaited Rebellion has been finished and revealed at this years Throttle Roll. Built for the purpose of breaking all the rules using our method of industrial crafted and raw steel finishings, this Machine now rides like a rebel. Just an example of what you can do to a Braaap Mercury.

THROTTLE ROLL 2015
As the dust settles, the heads pound and all the kaos that was Throttle Roll is wound up from the weekend show we remember how darn good this year was. A huge thanks to the organises of the event, all the crew who got down the Vic Enmore over the weekend and each of the builders and their Machines. We certainly had an awesome time drinking our fair share of beer while grovelling over all the bikes but also were super stoked to have three of our latest Custom builds Lucille, Rebellion and the Golddigger up there on display. Heres a couple of shots from the slightly more relaxed day Sunday.

Chris welding the headlight detail to Gasoline's Custom build Rebellion. Not long to Throttle role and the build is in full speed towards completion.
The Latest Gasoline built custom
Customer named Eternity is the latest Custom build by Gasoline. Starting with a fair condition Suzuki LS650 the bike was stripped down, cleaned up and the build began. Whilst not spoiling the integrity of the original bike a cafe style was implemented featuring everything to the finer detail. The LS is one of the few belt driven bikes that can adapt a cafe racer look and finishing result is definitely a meaner, cleaner version of its former self.
Customised Braaap Mercury

The latest customised Braaap Mercury built by Gasoline for one lucky customer. Featuring drop down cafe bars, a beautiful dark brown pillion seat, white walled road tyres, thundering hooligan exhaust along with a great deal of the finer detail. Modified all around Braaap's almost built proof 250cc engine and classic Cafe racer frame. This custom is certainly one of the more finer builds of the Mercury. Come by and check it out before it leaves or even have a chat about how you can customise a fine machine.
